Big mouth but no noise yet, originally uploaded by Memotions.

Spring is a time of bountiful beauty and wonder.

I spent much of my weekend absorbing the glory and admiring Mom Nature's latest sexy show, both the visual and the soundtrack. When I unplug, get quiet and give it the time of day, the natural world is so wonderfully entertaining.

On that note, I'm quite happy to start our week off with 12 seasonal images by 11 talented Guelph Photographers - starting with Memotions stunner - 'Junior Robin waiting for breakfast'.

Best viewed while sipping a steamy cup of garden fresh mint tea with a generous drizzle of spring blossom honey from Ignatius Farm Apiary.

Sue really had Maudlin Monday all wrapped up yesterday in a nice tidy package of pics depicting this lowdown state of mind, and me?

The 28th Speed River Clean-up is fast approaching and we want the
community to get involved.

This year the clean-up is on June 9th at 9am.

There are still many volunteer that still need to be filled. If anyone is

Denim caught these youngster heading to the River Run Center - to buy tickets for this weekends Contemporary Dance Festival I'm sure.

If the cacophony of 4am birdsong is any indication of 'birds per capita' I suspect Guelph could range in the Top Ten for Cities With Birds.

Which brings me to this burning Guelph issue: Cosmetic pesticide use.

Our friends the birds are not able to read those pesticide warning notices that appear on lawns after they've been soaked in chemical.

As you might assume or guess, the first day of spring photo contest will take place on the first day of spring.

Clever eh?

Photographers interested in entering can submit non-commercial images of Downtown Guelph taken on March 21st, 2007 to the contest through the Guelph Flickr Group. Of course you will have to sign up for a Flickr account first, but it's free and very easy to do.
