It's a simple two post Tuesday folks - a sunny, pleasant, non-snowing Tuesday at that.

Blog Guelph: The Art of Winter
Welcome to a sunny yet frosty, sky blue Wednesday in Guelph.
Please consider today's nine post series like a visit to Mother Nature's Gallery of Art. Note the careful crafting of the various winter materials - snow, frost, ice - and the skillful use of tools like gusting wind, low light and various shaped surfaces. Know that each image is in transition, never to look the same way twice and eventually designed to disappear completely.
Best viewed with a cup of gourmet coffee or tea. Biscotti optional.

Blog Guelph: A Mirage?
Blog Guelph would like to welcome Jerry Prager to the Guelph Blogroll, located in the right hand sidebar - which I will state is full of Guelph bloggers and growing steadily.
You may have read about Jerry in Saturday's Mercury. He's just released a book about the the history of the mafia in Guelph.
Jerry writes, "I just created two blogs, one for my new book Legends of the Morgeti, and one site more personal/political, The Independent Communitarian."
Today Jerry informed me a third blog has been birthed - The Well Verse Heart .
Photo compliments of Lio2006 - featuring our death trap sidewalks. You'll either drown or slip and crack your head open.

Blog Guelph: Sunset on Goldie Mill
Mill operations ceased in the 1930's and Goldies operated as a warehouse until 1953 when fire once again destroyed the location.
When the ruins were threatened to be flattened into a parking lot - suddenly a Joni Mitchell song is running through my mind - the Grand River Conservation Authority purchased the ruins in 1976. Several groups worked to stabalized the ruins and have the location designated as a public park.

Blog Guelph: Goldie Mill Today
And so, the mill continues to add value to our community.
Currently it may be reserved for performances or other events like weddings, film nights, art events and lectures. A projection screen and hydro is available. The main area inside the walls will hold up to 160 persons. There are two other smaller defined spaces as well. Public washrooms are available at 75 Cardigan Street, adjacent to the Mill. Important to note - the mill has no roof.

Blog Guelph: Goldie Mill - Big Idea?
Obviously someone had a big idea for Goldie Mill that was somewhat more inspired than 'must build parking lot'. Plus a whack of somebodies had the energy and resources to take a ruins and turn it into a historic gem, public park and nice chunk of cultural capital for the City of Guelph.
Let us say thank you to the visionaries who saw - then moved this project forward.
