Blog Guelph: Return of the Dandelion
And finally, did you know that by squirting the white juice of a dandelion on your wart it will eventually disappear? Of course you need a wart for this to work.
But wait - there's more. Herbalist Susun Weed adds these reasons to love dandelions.
"Dandelion (Taraxacum officinalis) is a powerful ally for the menopausal woman who suffers from endless hot flashes. All parts of the herb - leaves, roots, and flowers - can be used to strengthen the liver, aid digestion, and cool off those volcanic flashes. Dandelion also helps promote healthy breasts and clear skin. It's rich in bone-building minerals and contains enormous amounts of cancer-preventing carotenes (14,000 units of pro-vitamin A in 100 grams of leaves)."

Blog Guelph: White Out Winter
Welcome to Winter Wonderland Wednesday.
Today's series of eight is a result of me nearing the end of my snow tolerance rope. Yes cabin fever is setting in folks and things might get a tad ugly.
To thwart such an outcome, I'm digging deep for anything that will help get me through the remaining days of 'the season that comes and stays'. Allow me to share some ideas that were inspired by our talented crew of Guelph Flickrites and the on-line world of Cyberville.
First off - there are a fine slew of smart, beautiful, interesting, funny and creative Guelph blogs listed in the Blog Roll in the right hand column. I regularly pop in on GrandFOGGER, and the very whimsical aislinn thomas, Guelph CEO Jim Estill, the Guelph Mercury gals that do city hall and the boys from the newsroom.
Every Thursday I read Gareth Lind's latest comic strip (his ad appears in the top left column) then cruise over to see what's shaking in Ward Two - a very prolific and informative effort by both elected ward reps.
With over 40 blogs that range from soup to nuts, me thinks/hopes you'll find a couple to suit your fancy.
And now, back to the weather.
Today's lead photo by Firda may inspire driving dread BUT to really grasp what it's like to share poor conditions with the 'not so wise' you really must check out funny man TJ O'Malley's post titled: Crazy winter driving video.
Best viewed with a bottle of booze. Your choice.

Blog Guelph: Winter Blues
Greetings and salutations on this 50F/10C rainy, damp, dog crap littered gray Monday morning in Guelph.
Ugh!
To counterbalance our ugly reality, I offer this stunning image by Firda - plus several other beauties AND loads of details for the upcoming winter blues busting album release concert by sunny Ms. Tannis Slimmon.
And further, should you want to perpetuate a cheerful vibration in your world today, try singing the chorus of this Beatles tune in your head.
All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
Happy day.

Blog Guelph: 10/31
The thrift stores are a flurry of activity today as Guelphites clammer to pull off their creepy costumes for the first big, pre daylight savings time 10-31 in my memory. Yes folks, our clocks have yet to fall back meaning it will be light longer than ever tonight.
So here's the question of the day? Will parents buckle to the incessant pleas of their ghostly brood and hit the streets before sunset or try to restrain the eager alter egos until dark of night?
So you know, I've got my money is on the buckle factor.
AND - thanks to the 'it's happening faster than we ever imagined global warming' we will also enjoy unseasonably warm temperatures.
How scary is that. Boo Hoo.
So then, and on a more cheerful, helpful Blog Guelph note, if you happen to be one of the poor misfits that didn't scoop a mullet wig at VAVA Village or mistakenly dumped the Hallowe'en costume bag during spring cleaning, today's series of photographic brilliance will provide you with some easy solutions to your tricky day.

Blog Guelph - Sub Rosa
According to Rob Brezny's Freewill Astrology this week, I'm in a "heightened state of receptivity to miracles and wonders."
Right on.
From my experience, miracles and wonders are often covert. Quiet little gifts tucked away just waiting to be discovered by the willing. Secretly hiding amongst the trees just to catch you happily unawares.
And where you least expect them.
So it's with this in mind that I've sought out a handful of photos which depict some hidden gems so to speak.
May your weekend be rich with miracle and wonder.
Even if you're not a Capricorn.

Blog Guelph - John Wayne from Marketing
Sign Sign, Everywhere a Sign.
Messages, overt or implied.
Instructional. Directional. Lamenting. Informative. Foreboding. Cryptic.
Statements of Fact or Fiction. Visionary. Little pieces of the world stuck here, there and everywhere.
Just what, dear people, does it all mean?
These next 10 posts say it all...
"Stay Calm. Be Brave. Wait for the Signs."
