Blog Guelph: Alienhead
Paint a couple of eyes on this sucker and you'd have the next sequal to ET.
This is our water tower. A couple of summers ago, I watched it being painted. Tricky business that.
This is another Flickr photo...posted by psychicgypsy. Click on the pic to check out her work.

Blog Guelph: Heffernan Foot Bridge
Guelph is home to two rivers...this one called the Speed. A bit ironic considering the stillness. In jest, Guelphites reference the river as "The Mighty Speed".
This footbridge joins the north east downtown to the upper, more ritzy old home part of Guelph. Beneath the bridge is a popular hangout for the brown bag booze club.
Dezso Photoartist has over 100 fabulous photos of Guelph posted on Flickr. No blog yet, but perhaps with encouragement, he'll put one together. Click on the photo to see more.

Blog Guelph: Tannis Slimmon
On Saturday evening, Guelph's singer songwriter jewel, Tannis Slimmon did a live recording of new material slated for her second, upcoming album. Ubiquitous David Woodhead, Lewis Melville and slightly outside this image, drummer and tuba man Dave Clark joined Tannis in the lovely Catherine North Studio. The concert, come recording session was also videotaped and will eventually be added to Catherine North's blog. The hazy focus of this pic was a feature of a 'no flash' requirement of the production crew.
The new album may appear in time for Christmas stocking stuffing. Ugh...my apologies....I said the C word.

Blog Guelph: Wal-Mart ....Not There Please!

After a ten year battle, by thousands of Guelphites, trying to keep Wal-Mart from building between our cities 2 main cemeteries and beside our silent retreat centre/organic farm, the property is being prepared for the monster retailers arrival.
This link explains a last ditch effort to stop this development by our multi-faith community.
