New Horizons, #11 09-29-2014 The Power of Music

Do you already know about Jack Long's history as a music pioneer, and his recent appointment to The Order of Canada? We hope you will tune in to the New Horizons radio show at this morning, to hear more about his current involvement with music, and more about who he is today...  You'll also hear some fine, fine trumpet music, and other segments recorded at the mobile studio - intended to bring mature adults voices to the airwaves!

"Oh its so easy, I'm practically falling asleep here."  Our esteemed 85 yr old guest for the interview that aired, summarized his experience at CFRU's mobile studio, currently set up at Evergreen Senior's Community Centre, with humour and warmth.  He does have a connection or two to Guelph, which he revealed in our conversation.

I hope you will also check out this link --  I thought this photo by Ross, who also spoke on the show this morning, would suit the theme of this blogguelph-post, with its photo-focus, nicely -- he is a member of the Guelph Wellington Senior's Association, and the photography club through Evergreen Centre.

(Note that there is more background about the interview, and an alternate audio link posted here.)

-- Enjoy,
