Taste Real, Local Foodfest

Does it feel as though I have been Foraging on flickr for today's photo?
I wanted to mention the fabulous annual event that took place yesterday at Ignatius Jesuit Centre.
Amid music and interesting vendors, there were also workshops, including one about foraging, presented by Luke Erickson.  He invited participants to come enjoy the wonders of nature by foraging and celebrating spring ephemerals. He says foraging is a fantastic window through which to explore the natural world and increase our awareness and respect for its beauty and complexity. Wild foods are very nutritious and often have much higher amounts of minerals and other nutrients than their domesticated counterparts. They can also be used medicinally -- and they're free.

Next year's Guelph Wellington Taste Real, Local Foodfest will be the 10th anniversary!  I'm already planning not to miss it, are you?
