Blog Guelph: Look in the Mirror

Mirror Mirror by ARebbs
Mirror Mirror, a photo by ARebbs on Flickr.

Why are some people cruel or hurtful?

Why are there bullies out there seeking the pain of others?
Why do some people put others down, try to hold them down, try to keep them down?
Why are some people negative towards the accomplishments of others?

The truth is, I don't know. I just don't know.

I don't understand the need to criticize out of jealousy or fear. I don't understand those that think it's okay to be rude or hurtful to others. I don't accept bullies. I reject that negativity.

Sometimes, in life, people will try to tell you that you are less than what you are. Never listen.

Understand that they are actually scared, not confident; that they are grasping, not strong.

Many of us will encounter bullies in our lifetime. People that would criticize rather then support, offer insult rather than praise, act vicious rather than compassionate. And often, even when you are good to them.

These people are weak. Worse, they are troubled.

Bullying is not acceptable - nowhere, by no one.

To the bullies of the world, I say LOOK IN THE MIRROR.

Do you really like what you see?
