Blog Guelph: Goodbye summer, hello fall

#Guelph's this whole other thing, #trees #sun #branches #sparkle #forest #nature #wilderness #campus #sky #up #summer #bark by Stevie Carlyle

Blog Guelph returns from vacation today, having taken the entire month of August off.

And today marks my first day as a weekly, instead of spare, blogger... looking forward to it!

While Blog Guelph was chilaxin' a group of locals, including myself, were busy running a mobile photography contest called guelPhonography, which closed a few days ago. We invited citizens to submit photos taken on their phones for a chance to win prizes and have their work exhibited at the Guelph Civic Museum. We setup a website, posted entries as they were submitted, and tweeted them. We also encouraged people to tag mobile photos they were sharing with "guelphonography"... and i'm hoping that practice continues, whether on Instagram, Flickr or Twitter.

Winners will be announced September 14 and the exhibit opens September 28, as part of a Fourth Fridays celebration.

In the meantime, check out the great selection of photos that were submitted at guelphonography.ca. I'm so impressed with the work of our guelPhonographers!
