Blog Guelph: Stand Back

Big Sky by BunnySafari
Big Sky, a photo by BunnySafari on Flickr.

Sometimes we just have to stand back.

You might journey a thousand miles to be one thing to someone.
You might put your heart on the line for a moment.
You might offer your hand for a moment.
You might share your thoughts for a second.
But lots of times, you just have to stand back.

I’m not sure this is a good thing. But it is what we do. And sometimes it gives us perspective to stand back, other times we do it because we feel we don’t matter. Sometimes it’s because we want to see the big picture, but other times it’s because we feel lost in that picture.

Yes, we stand up sometimes.

But mostly, we stand back.

If you want to take a stand, I hope you’ll join the 2012 Earth Hour this coming Saturday, March 31, from 8:30pm to 9:30pm. Please turn off your lights and unplug all electrical devices.

Macdonald Stewart Art Centre in partnership with Guelph Environmental Leadership will be creating an environmental light display at the corner of Gordon and College in the Sculpture Park. Check it out during Earth Hour.
