Blog Guelph: To Every Day There Is A Ritual (4) by Aidan M.D. Ware

Onions remind me of home. The smell of onions cooking is a source of comfort and familiarity like none other. Preparing my dinner, I often start by chopping an onion and every single time I do, I think about all the generations of wonderful and strong women in my family. Somehow this makes me feel connected, proud, a part of something greater than myself. It might be odd to think of an onion as a ritual, but for many I bet it is.
