They say birds of a feather flock together. Well today's pod of perfect pics gave me that feel, despite being quite different focuses.
This weekend is Culture Days in Guelph - officially. Frankly I think Guelph serves up a boiling stew of extraordinary arts everyday. Still, here's this weekends creatively rich menu for you to dine on.
Likely you've noticed the municipal election signs decorating our city. Election day is Monday, October 25th. All the details and more can be had at VoteGuelph.ca. If you're interested in issues like drinking water and how we manage our garbage - both will be debated over the course of the campaigning period.
Let's think about what kind of city we want to hand over to the next generation, before we vote shall we?!

Blog Guelph: Dried leaves
Fall in Guelph is amazing. Growing up, Fall was a three day regrouping between shorts and snow, but here it is a season to be experienced and embraced! We are really blessed by the slow settling in to Winter, as the leaves come off, the layers go on. This side of Fall, the firey reds, the warm oranges, and those assertive yellows on the trees that line our roads and our parks, make for such a beautiful time of year.

Blog Guelph: Fresh from the market
What a great time of year to love vegetables. I have eaten a record number of tomatoes this year, mashed up with garlic and basil-infused olive oil. I've never really gotten my mouth and my mind into the acorn squash but bring on those spaghetti and butternut varieties. Hope everyone has a wonderful sunny day.

Blog Guelph: sunlight through the leaves
The first thing I noticed when I opened my blinds this morning was a scene similar to this lovely image.
My sun soaked tree happens to be a Tulip Tree, grown from seed by my dear friend Henry Kock - who is being honoured next week at the University of Guelph. The "Henry Kock Propagation Centre" will be officially dedicated on Monday September 27th. The new greenhouse is located in the area presently used for the sale of herbaceous plants at the Arboretum Auxiliary Plant Sale (east of the Hilton Service Centre).
Breeze through today's collection of tree pics and give thanks for the splendor.
