Oh geesh, I forgot to post last Thursday. Thanks, Sue for getting one up!
There's lots going on. Life just gets in the way sometimes.
Anyway, don't you just want to jump into this first polaroid! It makes me think of what's beyond the frame. Is there water, a pool, or a swing set? Maybe there's a cool forest of trees just up over the hill. So many possibilites, just like summer!
Have a great day!

This weekend looks good for the annual Potters Market at Goldie Mill both Saturday and Sunday. Over 40 craftsfolk will be on hand to sell you their wares. Great wedding gifts.....should you be looking.
My friend Russell Mater is offering courses in Craniosacral Therapy this summer. Very soothing stuff to both practice and receive. Get the details here.
Next weekend please plan to attend the Guelph Contemporary Dance Festival at one of their wonderful outdoor venues. Pure fun!
Until then - be cool.

Blog Guelph: Guelph Lake
Today I bring you an assortment of photos! I was tempted to make the whole post today on toads after seeing xunicorn's four shots. It always seems to be a good day if I see a toad. I remember seeing them all the time as a kid in the city. These days, there hasn't been a toad trapped in my window well in years.
I hope your day goes well!

Blog Guelph: 12
It's Friday Gem day - and I'm pleased to be featuring the intriguing work of Blairware. Click, click the pic, pic for more, more.
It's also the eve of May 24 - our first summery long weekend of the season and one that often brings out the craziness in people. For that reason, I've included this brief personal safety message.
Carry on.

I'm hoping this latte kicks in soon. I'm fading, and the day is only starting.
Lately I've been listening to Moneybrother. Maybe you'll like! The first time I heard his voice I heard Joe Strummer, and well me and The Clash go way back. I wasn't surprised to hear that others heard similarities. It's all good!
Check out the video for Born Under a Bad Sign. Good times!
Have a fantastic day! The weather is going to be fab!

Blog Guelph: Peek A Boo - We See You
Good Morning!
I hope this finds you well!
I am over my cold, and whatever virus I had going on, and now I'm ready to roll. There's film to be developed and new film to be loaded, and I'm feeling like I must get out there and see what's going on beyond my sick zone deck. The rest of the week looks great for exploring. Sadly the weekend doesn't. Maybe I can get someone to hold an umbrella over my camera.
Have a good one everyone, and check out Blog Guelph over on Facebook. Sue does a fantastic job updating with snippets going on around town, great sites to check out or even a jaunty poem to amuse you.

Blog Guelph: Old shingles
We are excited to feature Rob Bowman's photography today for BlogGuelph. Rob is a prolific photographer of many subjects, notably abandoned spaces and derelict houses. He has photographed his children extensively, capturing the untethered laughter and excitement of experienced Fun, but I thought it best to mention this separate from his abandonment work! The images showcased here are all selected from his Guelph set, and more specifically, feature his stunning work with walls. Rob has an amazing talent to transform boring and seemingly sedate scenes into incredibly dynamic pieces of art. He effortlessly folds multiple dimensions into these flat surfaces. What I find most impressive is that he does this with such dull lighting which rarely produces a depth-defining shadow. I find I often look at Rob's images for a long time, perhaps held there by the disconnect between the perception and reality of the subject. How many walls to do you pass in a day without a thought paid to them? Here, the interaction of shape and texture on top of strong composition results in such compelling statements that it is hard not be moved and inspired by them. He also does an amazing job of cropping his images such that there is no visual escape from his subjects. Rob's work has made me engage with the mundane more than I used to. You have a beautiful way of capturing the oft ignored spaces, and thank you, Rob, for sharing these.
I hope you have all enjoyed the sunshine!

Blog Guelph: Sunrise on 32
Excuse me, while I stare at these first two photos all day! I'm always blown away by the great stuff in the Guelph flickr pools. Today is no exception! Wow! Take a look at all the photos I've posted and click away through their streams. The gems are plentiful!
So that's it for me until Monday, but I just want to remind you to check out the plant sale at Tytler public school starting at 8am on Saturday. I'm going to be bringing some stuff; like one of my favourite tomatoes to grow. Last year it grew great in pots and in the ground. I have an extra lemon cucumber that will be going, and other bits that I'll be dividing up from the garden outside. All the proceeds are going to help the children's garden. So that's a great thing!
Have a great day everyone!
