When people hear I eat vegan..., originally uploaded by Jennifwr.
Last January, much to my surprise, Wayne at Homefield Organics Home Food Delivery contacted me and offered to drop a box of groceries off at my door - free of charge - on a weekly basis. I was deeply touched by the generosity of his offer and accepted with gratitude.
Here's the thing. I have not been able to work for a couple of years due to the symptoms of Parkinson's - and I have been unable to get any disability insurance to boot. Miraculously, friends, family and the community have helped keep my boat afloat in all manner of ways, which has allowed me to focus on regaining my health and improving my situation. It is safe to say that I am very, very grateful.
Over the last several years, I've been a pretty regular customer of Homefields - it's a fabulous service and I love the full range of organic, local, high quality food they offer. I place my order on-line by Monday and Dean cheerfully delivers my hamper of produce, dairy, meat, fish, bakery and grocery items to my door on Wednesday. No muss. No fuss.
The act of kindness that Homefield has afforded me these last 10 months puts them in a league of their own in my books. And so, I'm offering you my story and this pitch. Please add your name to Homefield's home delivery service and give them a try.
Eat well. Save time. Support an environmentally conscious supplier of yummy food - serving the Guelph, Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo, Fergus, and Elora area. Wayne and Dean guarantee your satisfaction with everything they sell. 100%.
Food for thought - yes indeed.
