Blog Guelph: Deer in the Forest

Black and White Wednesday - The Arboretum

Deer in the Forest Originally uploaded by theapo

Here are some wonderful BW images from the Arboretum. I generally find BW to be more engaging than colour, partly because it leaves more to wonder where the viewer is concerned. In these images, I wonder at the near silence that was this deer moving through the trees, or at the spaces in the darks, or at this land years before it was the Arboretum. I have included one of my own images in this set, because as I strolled through a number of streams selecting images for this post, I realized just what a profound influence this space has been on my own work, and my own Guelph experience. I encourage you all to find and embrace your own inspirations within this city, and I think it's time for me to get back to The Arboretum.

Have a wonderful day!
