Blog Guelph: A day's harvest

Fruits Galore!

A day's harvest Originally uploaded by Rena177

Guelph is lucky to have such a wonderful breadth of fresh and local fruits! I love the meals of fresh berries still warm from the sun, the pies of fruits picked from the yard, and the jams made from the flats of roadside fare. One thing that has always struck me about this city, in the summer, is that almost everywhere you turn you can get fantastic local produce. Last weekend I was riding out through Oustic and passed no less than 5 honour-system corn stands, and was I ever tempted to pick up a few cobs and carry them home in the back of my jersey! Hope you all had a fruit-filled summer and I can't wait for a fall of local apples!
