We are so very pleased to feature Gillian's photography here at Blogguelph, and WOW, what amazing work. Gillian has a soft, sensitive, and unique foundation to her images. She makes exceptional use of framing her subjects such that her images have this calm, centered, balance, and reassured feeling to them. The different faces, quiet nooks, and silent moments of the Arboretum have been so beautifully translated to her images. I am particularly drawn to her deft use of blur in her landscape work, which works to really cement the viewer in the immediate of her images. She isolates a scene with great ease and the intricate balance of the portion of her subject that she excludes from the image really ramps up the tension. Gillian consistently makes use of every aspect of her frames and often imparts a vintage and timeless feel to her moments. Her images have such compelling felt narratives as though she has captured the moments that have long lingered in a space. With much of her work, I wonder whether the light or a fine brush has produced these often delicate photographs. She has an incredible set of images from abroad as well as some high energy concert works. I would highly recommend a trip to her stream, you won't forget it, and will likely think long on the nature of her images. Thank you Gillian.
For those of you used to bemoaning winter, I hope you have enjoyed the Spring-like nature of today.
