Blog Guelph: Rock 'n Roll hair

Greetings shutterbugs!

For today's edition of Made in Guelph, we hyper-focus on the prolific vw-busman AKA Chris Iwanowski.
Lest you think this tiny person is the photog of whom we speak, no, this is a mini Chris (see below too!). While his prodigy will no doubt grow to be hugely creative and perchance even lovingly nerdy like their Pa - in an brilliant tech way mind you - for the time being, they are busy being kids.
Chris is a partner in Barking Dog Studios, seems to be able to take a great picture with one of many cameras, phones and/or computers and is an all around excellent guy.

So today we high-five Busman with 6 of his pics.

Lucky us.

-Downtown Lynn-

p.s. Neglected to mention this factoid: Chris loves anything VW-buslike. But I thought that went without saying....

Blog Guelph: The Walk from Here to There

Wouldn't it be grand if the transition from one season to the next was as simple as crossing a bridge?

May this current snap of winter pass quickly.

This morning there was fog. Fog is one thing I will drop anything, to go out into. I always feel I haven't taken enough photos and that I should have walked further. It's usually these times I wish I drove. I could have taken the truck and went anywhere.
Now, I am off to see if I indeed should have stayed out longer. :)

Have a great day!

Some of the photos today are from the Guelph pool archive. We do not have magnolia flowers just yet. :)

I think this is the time of year I like the most. The ground is waking up, and the air is still cool, and the sun warm. There are so many things to notice right now. The sounds of birds attracting each other, and the colour of the fields changing almost before our eyes. I can almost smell the dirt walking on a path through the trees. Soon though. Another few days of sun, and I will.

The photos today are stunning together, aren't they?

Darling Downtown Lynn is experiencing rude and unacceptable technical difficulties today - cursed be the cyber-rats that lurk on the www. Instead of indulging in her weekly Made in Guelph photospread, I hope you'll enjoy this single summer image by Oliver Street Photo.

Blog Guelph: Spring Sky

, originally uploaded by Denim.

After four months of being relatively housebound, it is the sky that is delighting me the most during this patch of spring weather. Despite the copious mud, dog dung and muted landscape, all you have to do is look upward for a visual picnic in shades of blue, orange and pink.

Grab a yoga mat, lay your winter weary body down and feast on the sky. Now is the time to fill yourself up with colour from above.

Dive In, originally uploaded by ICT_photo.

Walking around this week you can't help but see Spring is really on it's way. The ground is soft and squishy, and bits of green are amongst the brown grass. Yep, even the birds are singing. It's the first thing I hear when I open my eyes in the morning. You know, I even saw a caterpillar on Sunday.
I hope everyone is enjoying these early days, because soon enough I will be complaining about the endless heat of summer. :)

Blog Guelph: Top O' The Mornin'

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

We all know that Ireland and the Irish are so much more than St. Paddy's Day, green and Guinness but not so here at Blog Guelph.
No siree! Not today.
Today we are all about about the green Made in Guelph (with a touch of guinness thrown in for good measure).

Have a lucky, lucky day.

"there was a wee lass named Lynn,
who twirled about in a spin,
but her true hearts desire
was to sing round a fire,
and to not
was her deepest chagrin."

(well, I tried....)

Blessed be the weather... springishness is in the air. Waste no time indoors. Instead soak up the fresh outdoor energy, let your shoulders relax and breath in deeply.
