Blog Guelph: Rail Yard Morning

Rail Yard Morning, originally uploaded by kirk white.

Good Tuesday Guelph lovers,
and welcome to this week's fab featured focus called
Made in Guelph

Today we introduce one Kirk White.
In his own words...
"Many years ago I found a 35mm rangefinder and in a matter of months was hooked. I loved shooting Kodachrome 25 and waiting for the box of slides to arrive back in the mail. Over the years, the camera was put aside as mortgages, kids and career became the focus. Today I am seizing the opportunity to return to the adventure of photography, and record the world as I see it - sharing it through the reach of the internet."

Survey these brilliant eight and wade into Kirk's Spectacular Adventure...

Blog Guelph: Downtown Guelph

Downtown_Guelph, originally uploaded by Rockin' Ray.

We have a stunning Thursday on our hands folks.
At least from this office-gurl's view...

Yesterday, our lovely Sue Richards offered us a dozen historical pics of our dear old Guelph town. It's no surprise that the bulk of these were taken within the downtown core - the scene of the historic crime so to speak.
Sue couldn't have handed me a more beautiful segue for todays reminder about The Guelph Arts Council Historical Walking Tours Downtown Walkabout. Phew! Now that's a mouthful.

This particular leg of the journey begins Sunday, 2 PM at The Guelph Civic Museum.

Take a peek at these ten picks of some seriously ancient and beloved places in Downtown Guelph.
And be grateful.

It's oldies day on Blog Guelph - and I'm pleased to offer a dozen historic pics of our dearly beloved Guelph.

If you're curious about days gone by in the Royal City, the Wikipedia page for G-town offers a great information jumping off place. Note the external links at the bottom of the page.

The history of tomorrow is being made today. Let's make something we can be proud of.

Blog Guelph: Made in Guelph: Three in a row

Three in a row, originally uploaded by Dom Cruz.

I'm late, I'm late!
So sorry Blog Guelphophiles...I'm late today.
Call it the heady grip of the sun, call it a brush with insanity, call it a case of the behinds.
Nevertheless, welcome to Tuesday's

Made in Guelph!

Today we are featuring the candid photography of Dom Cruz.

He likes ..."street photography and capturing real moments on the fly".
I like this point of view.
I particularly love the familiarity of some of his subjects; most of his shots are taken on Downtown Guelph streets.
A place near and dear to my heart.

Have a voyeuristic gander at these 9 yourself, then clickety click on each and every pic.

As we start a new week and another season, this image caught my attention and resonated deeply.

May calmness fill your hearts and minds as your life stories continue to unfold.

We've got six pics of no particular connection today - except that they all come from the creative talent that call Guelph home. For more examples of what I mean by 'creative talent' - clickity click the photographs.

Today's effort is best viewed at a computer.
