Time and Eternity - Emily Dickinson
VIII.
Look back on time with kindly eyes,
He doubtless did his best;
How softly sinks his trembling sun
In human nature's west

Blog Guelph - Cracked
Blog Guelph dedicates todays handful of pictures to one photographer, Peter Kelly.
Not only does Peter capture his gorgeous shots "old skool" using film, but he's also the proud co-author of a newly released book, The Last Stand: A Journey Through the Ancient Cliff-Face Forest of the Niagara Escarpment.
There are a few copies available at The Bookshelf. Go check it out, it's a beauty.

Blog Guelph - John Wayne from Marketing
Sign Sign, Everywhere a Sign.
Messages, overt or implied.
Instructional. Directional. Lamenting. Informative. Foreboding. Cryptic.
Statements of Fact or Fiction. Visionary. Little pieces of the world stuck here, there and everywhere.
Just what, dear people, does it all mean?
These next 10 posts say it all...
"Stay Calm. Be Brave. Wait for the Signs."

Blog Guelph - three day old feet
New week, new baby.
Here we have the wee toes of Anna, born as a gift to her Dad (and Blog Guelph SuperGuy) vw-busman on Fathers Day.
If there were a season for us all, I believe summer would belong to the children.
So it with this in mind that we dedicate today to the optimism, playfulness and tenacity of kids.
May we all embrace their spirit.

A child of five would understand this. Send someone to fetch a child of five.

Blog Guelph - Heaven
Blog-ites!
Solstice is here. 'Tis the shortest night of the year so I'll offer you 5 posts of green-ishness.
Starting us off today is a dreamy shot from none other than our much missed Sue Richards.
We are sending our collective thoughts to you Sue, with warm, green hearts and hopes for all that is abundant, inside and out.
Now if the old memory banks serve me, I do believe A Midsummer Night's Dream took place on Solstice...
anon,
Downtown Lynn
I know a bank where the wild thyme blows,
Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows,
Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine,
With sweet musk-roses and with eglantine.

Blog Guelph - Crazy Clouds
Eyes to the sky today people.
Who's to say we have to be in the Big Sky Country of Montana to witness some spectacular celestial scenes? The following six posts offer us a glimpse of what the skies above our own heads are capable of...
Tomorrow is Solstice. Put on your dancing shoes.

Blog Guelph - Derelict
Today is D-Day!
The following 5 posts offer up that which is derelict, dusty and discarded for no other reason than I saw a theme and ran with it.
As always, click on the pic to view each photographers photostream where you'll find many, many lovely things.

Blog Guelph - Chill in Purple
Heat got you down? Feeling a little steamy? Take a long look at this cool shot by night_torn_mad, and it might just chill you out.
Today Blog Guelph - with generous assistance from four fantastic photogs - rejects the doldrums normally experienced at the start of the week.
No Blue Monday here, no siree. Nary a silicone chip inside this head.
Today we celebrate Purple.
Did you know that there are colour theorists (?) who believe purple has a special, almost sacred place in nature, can spur the imagination, even boost an artist's creativity.
Bring it on I say.
People for Purple Monday!

Blog Guelph - Riverside
I believe this gorgeous photo that starts us off today is a contribution from one of Blog Guelph's newer members, scarlettmcd. But don't quote me on that - I am, after all, the potentially ill-informed guest blogger.
The next 5 posts concentrate on the theme, 'What goes around, comes around'.
Speaking of which, the Guelph & District Multicultural Festival kicks off yet again tomorrow. The annual event at Riverside Park is a great place to witness all the colours, flavours, sounds and all around multi-ness that our fair town can offer.
Check out the details on the festival website, gdmf.ca
Have a spectacular weekend all,

Blog Guelph - Venus Smiled...again
No poetry, song lyrics or other cryptography from your guest blogger today folks. Let's just call the next 6 posts 'facetime'.
Nothing cryptic about that.
Please click on elledee's picture of Venus here to read all about the details of the grand re-opening of ...and Venus Smiled. Nice to see one of the Douglas Street Fire survivors rise again.
And as always, click on any pic to see each photographers photostream.
Have a lovely, hot day,
